Alice and I woke up this morning feeling a little restless – so we figured it must be getting time for another road trip. Coming in to the Black Hills, we had heard about a little town located 60 miles south of Hart Ranch… named “Hot Springs, SD”. Sounded like a good destination…

Hello folks. Its mid-Summer… and Alice and I thought we’d send out an update on our travels. As you may recall, we left Michigan back in January to spend a year traveling the country in our Motorhome. We are six months into our journey and our enjoyment & wonders just never seem to end.

@ Cabala’s… Sidney, Nebraska… Its a Small World!
On our way from Elephant Butte, NM, to Gillette, WY, Alice and I stopped for a couple nights rest at a nice little RV Park that was part of Cabalas, in Sidney, Nebraska. After a good night’s rest, we went to the store the next morning, and immediately spotted this beautiful 1951 Studebaker Convertible… parked safely in the back parking lot… complete with Teardrop Live-in trailer being pulled behind.

New Mexico… Elephant Butte Lake & Dam.
On Thursday, June 20, we enjoyed a wonderful day touring the Elephant Butte Dam and Lake area… with a side trip below the Dam along the Rio Grand River. Our ‘guides’ were friends from back at the Benson, AZ, Escapee Park, Bruce & Sue Burt. We met them there and became fast friends when we discovered that we were all from Michigan… and retired.

We are in our last week here in Elephant Butte, New Mexico… and we have been enjoying a wonderful time. This past Sunday (June 16) we went with good friends Bob & Addie Fife, and Nullet & Sandy Schneider…. to Hatch, New Mexico, for ‘chile’ burgers and music.

Visit to the “Very Large Array” National Radio Astronomy Site, Socorro, NM
This past Sunday, June 2, Alice and I went for a little road trip… something which we are prone to do often. We had heard about the National Radio Astronomy ‘s site, located about 120 miles from where we are camped at Elephant Butte RV Resort in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico We wanted to see it first hand.

Hi Folks. Stuck indoors for a couple of days… with an Arizona “high Wind & dust Storm” weather condition under way. Alice and I thought we’d take a moment and summarize our experiences to date. No pictures this time… even though we have some recent spectacular ones on the computer.

February 26, 2013 – Email from Sedona…
After leaving Grand Rapids on January 10th, fighting Wind, Rain, and Snow all the way… we finally arrived in Texarkana, TX on Monday, January 14th. Good to be back home for both of us! After a nice week-long visit with Alice’s family (and usual big family meal & get-together at the local church), we left Texarkana on Tuesday, January 22, for our eventual destination of Wickenburg, AZ.
