It is August 2, 2015… and the 75th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally has just gotten underway… Wow! This is Day 1, of the week long event. We attended with our good friends Greg & Suzy Joy, experienced Bikers in their own right. For comfort & convenience, we drove with them from Hart Ranch to Sturgis for the day in their car… on roads that were definitely owned by the 1.2 Million Bikers estimated in attendance. The day was sunny & beautiful… so perhaps its best to let the pictures speak for themselves as to what we saw.
Sturgis, home of the largest annual Motorcycle Rally in the world, is a small town of about 6,500 people, located on Western I-90 in South Dakota, close to the Wyoming State line. It is on the Northern edge of the Black Hills… providing some of the most beautiful scenery, roads, small towns, lakes, hills and mountains to ride in the West. We’ve never been to Sturgis for the big event. We did see quite a few headed up there on I-29 between Kansas City and Omaha last week though! It must have been a fun day for you. Tell Alice I like her “Texas bike”!! Will we get to see you guys next winter in Arizona??? We are heading there on October 1st.

Yes, I can believe that you saw a LOT of bikes headed this way… they have been here all week – never seen the roads as filled as this 75th Rally. And, I did tell Alice that you liked the ‘Texas bike’… she said something about… you always did have good tastes!…
Quite likely we will see you in Arizona again… if you would have us! We enjoyed the last time. Our plans are to go to Texas from here… park the MH, and drive the Honda to Michigan for the Holidays… then back to Texas, wake up the MH and drive to Arizona in early January. Lets stay in contact and get something on the Calendar in January or February… I’d like to hear how your Son’s new business is shaping up.
