@ Cabala’s… Sidney, Nebraska… Its a Small World!

On our way from Elephant Butte, NM, to Gillette, WY, Alice and I stopped for a couple nights rest at a nice little  RV Park that was part of Cabalas, in Sidney, Nebraska.   After a good night’s rest, we went to the store the next morning, and immediately spotted this beautiful 1951 Studebaker Convertible…  parked safely in the back parking lot… complete with Teardrop Live-in trailer being pulled behind.

The Studebaker was genuine, rebuilt (w/some customizations) by Arlyn Lohman, from Holland, Michigan!   (Right down the road from our Home, Cannonsburg, MI).   Arlyn had been out touring the country… and was currently heading for Estes National Park in Colorado.

The automobile was beautiful, reflecting a labor of love.   Lots of Route 66 stickers all around… as Arlyn says, “Can you imagine driving down the Mother Road, convertible top down… and taking it all in?”?   No, we can’t – but we would sure love to have the chance!

We shot a few pictures before we went our different ways… having made a new friend from right in our own back yard.
